Are you refering to a kata move or just a basic move, like turning(mawate)180 degrees and blocking gedan barai (downward block), at the end of a series of basic moves?
In the example above, when the sensei calls out “mawate” and we have our right leg forward, we take our back foot (left foot) across to the right and twist the hips and body around to face in the direction we have just come from, while executing gedanbarai (downward block) with the left arm. A simple 180 degree turn.

Yes, exactly the same. there are 2 versions of this turn. 1. The back leg steps accross, then the downward block (gedanbarai) and 2. the back leg and downward block land at the same time. The second version is a bit harder to execute correctly.
