Not the first combination, those techniques are for the kata moves, they would never work in the street (well, I couldn't make them work anyway).

Individually, the moves in the second combination would work, but these techniques have been put together to losely resemble the moves in the kata, so personally i would use them individually, but not all together, that's just for the kata.

I always tell people, if they are practicing karate for fighting, they're barking up the wrong tree! Yes, karate techniques can be effective in self defence, after all, karate is a striking art.

I always recommend Mixed martial arts, for people who just want the fighting.
